Introduction
———

D-NMS is a nano-emulsion microsphere plugging agent supplied as a stable oil-in-water emulsion containing deformable spherical gel particles from nano- to micro-scale. It migrates with the fluid and effectively bridges and seals micro-pores and micro-fractures, forming a low-permeability filter cake and limiting liquid-phase pressure transmission. D-NMS is designed for loss-prevention while drilling and for remedial sealing of thief zones when needed. It is suitable for challenging salinity conditions, and remains effective up to 150°C (302°F) in composite brines and up to 180°C (356°F) in saturated brines.

Recommended Treatment

• add 1–3% to the active system (optimize by field conditions).

• Remedial losses (spot pill): 3–5% D-NMS + 1–2% fibrous material + 3–5% ultra-fine CaCO₃ (lab optimization recommended).
