Introduction

DY-POLY CAP is an emulsion encapsulating polymer for water-based drilling fluids (WBM), designed to deliver cuttings/shale encapsulation and low-viscosity fluid-loss control to help reduce filtrate invasion, improve wellbore stability, and enhance lubricity. It works in both freshwater and saline / composite brine systems, and it typically does not require additional biocides.

 Grades & Temperature Rating
 

• DY-POLY CAP — up to 120°C (248°F); preferred for freshwater and composite brines where encapsulation + FL control with stable rheology is required

• DY-POLY CAP PRO — up to 150°C (302°F); preferred for higher-temperature intervals in freshwater and composite brines, where stronger encapsulation / inhibition and stable performance are needed

Recommended Treatment

Typical dosage: (optimize based on mud type, salinity/hardness, temperature, and lubrication target)

• 0.3–1.0% for inhibition/encapsulation/FL control; 0.6–1.5% for solid-free systems.
